Meet the Midwives
Alison Peralta, CPM, LM
Alison Peralta, CPM, LM is a wife, and mother to three children. The experiences of all three – one a surprise homebirth, one a planned hospital birth, and one a planned homebirth – have formed her philosophy of birth. She believes that the peace, safety and minimal interventions out-of-hospital birth can provide all greatly improve the birthing experience, and deeply wishes all women could experience the joy that comes with a natural childbirth.
She graduated summa cum laude from the Direct-Entry Midwifery program at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore, WI in May, 2014, completing certification and licensure the same year. She is a Certified Professional Midwife by the North American Registry of Midwives and maintains current licensure from the state of Wisconsin. She is a current member of the Wisconsin Guild of Midwives, maintains current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), and CPR, and has training in Birth Emergency Skills Training (B.E.S.T), Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (A.L.S.O), fetal monitoring and as a doula.
Alison is also fluent in Spanish, and looks forward to providing midwifery care to those who might benefit from this service.
She deeply believes that the great privilege of seeing women surrender to a power greater than themselves throughout pregnancy and birth, and then of seeing that mom falling in love with the baby in her arms is a blessed calling.
Heather Kramer, RN, CPM, LM
Heather Kramer, RN, CPM, LM is a Christian homeschooling mother of twelve. She has birthed her children in a variety of settings from hospital to home with both doctors and midwives
Heather's interest in birth began when her nursing career started in 1999. She has been working since then as a registered nurse (RN) in a variety of hospitals caring for women and their families. In this role she helped families welcome roughly 200 babies into the world. She has gained a great appreciation for the normalcy of birth.
Heather completed her formal midwifery training in the Direct-Entry Midwifery program at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in December 2014. She fulfilled her hands-on midwifery preparation during that time with very busy midwives in central Wisconsin, attending over 60 births. Heather completed the national midwifery board exam in January, 2015. She maintains certification as a professional midwife by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and is currently licensed by the state of Wisconsin.
Aside from being a part of Trillium Midwifery Services, Heather helps out with the Pregnancy Helpline of Boscobel acting as nurse manager. The Pregnancy Helpline of Boscobel offers women pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, pregnancy option counseling, and resource referrals. Heather has also served as a Clinical Site Coordinator for the Direct Entry Midwifery Program at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore, Wisconsin, from 2015-2017.
Heather holds current training and certificates in birth emergency skills (BEST), Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO), labor support (doula), breastfeeding education (CBE), childbirth education (CCE), neonatal resuscitation instructor (NRP), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and a variety of other advanced emergency medical trainings including trauma nursing, advanced resuscitation and fetal monitoring courses. Heather is a current member of the state midwifery organization, Wisconsin Guild of Midwives.
